  • Glasgow…

The blogs have been few and far between on this tour, mainly due to the fact that internet is a far rarer commodity than you might imagine.

We’re halfway through the tour now and Straight Lines have left, they’re on their way to SXSW! It was sad times many manly tears were shed in the streets surrounding Liverpool Academy.

Today we’re saying hello to White Belt Yellow Tag which should be awesome beans! Another first for us on this tour, we’re playing King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow tonight somehow things have always come up that have prevented us actually playing here it’s pretty exciting stuff despite the many many many many steps we’re going to have to negotiate with all our gear!!

  • Whoops a daisy!!

Just thought about it and I haven’t written anything on here for ages, so I think it’s about time I did. I mean it’s that or watch Midsomer Murders (I’m kind of doing both, ROCK AND ROLL!!)

Anyway first off massive massive massive massive thanks to all the peeps who came to the shows last month, we hardly advertised or mentioned it anywhere really so it was cool to see so many people. Last week in the cold cold north was awesome, cheers m’dears!

I think at this juncture it would probably be rather apt to mention we have a little song out on Sunday. Interstate is our first self-released single ever so we’re excited just to see what happens and prove you don’t need the whirring cogs of massive corporations to make things happen. In fact, whisper it, at least we can get the record out on time.

So you can go to these two places Play.com and Amazon.co.uk and pre-order it there; it’s going to be download only so it’ll be on iTunes and all that razzmatazz too on sunday!!

That’s about it really, we have a couple of acoustic type sessions next week so keep an eye out and we’ll post them up here for your enjoyment, plus a new lahverly cover!

So remember INTERSTATE is out SUNDAY!

    See y’all soon!

  • Tour Time Listening!!

Well having just got home from a hectic few days of gigging, mixing and telly type charity-ing I’m a little pooped!

Thanks to everyone who came to the gigs in Swansea, Preston and Ipswich. They were new ground for us, playing the kinds of venues not normally associated with putting on gigs. So it was cool to see people who I’m guessing wouldn’t usually be there coming along for the craic!!

Anyway there was a lot of driving, I mean loooooads!! Ample time to listen to some music so here’s a few tunes from the journey’s!

Pretty Girls Make Graves – All Medicated Geniuses

    Peter Gabriel – Sledgehammer

Gruff Rhys – Gyrru Gyrru Gyrru

  • General tourage

Morning all! Welcome to day two of our end of year mini tour of places that don’t often get gigs!

Thanks to everyone who come to Tunbridge Wells last night it was an awesome way to kick off the tour. Last time we played there was almost four years ago with The Kooks, which seems pretty mental!

Anyway at the moment we’re all in the van headed for Southend which is always a good show. Last time we played there was a rollercoaster opening called ‘What’s that coming over the hill…’ a bit strange but pretty cool!

If you haven’t already remember to have a gander at the video for our new single ‘Interstate’ on the YouTube.

Also there’s a link to a free track somewhere on this site on te front page. Just put on your email and have a listen and keep it forever and ever!

Oh and one last thing, if we’re not coming your way this time fear not for we have a shedliad of gigs to be announced towards the end of the month!

  • Welcome. Wilkommen. Bienvenue. Croeso. Bemvindos. Irasshaimase.

    Hello there!!

Welcome to our lovely new website, tis cool, no?

Hopefully it’s a lot more user friendly than our old website for you and us.

Keep an eye out, because we’re going to be able to give away lots of little bits and bobs for your approval on here!

    Anyhoo enjoy!!

  • Poland

Last week we travelled to Poland for the Jarocin Festival. It was a cool festival, small but perfectly formed you might say!

We had the night off before the festival to sample the delights of the nearest big town Poznan. The old town had an enormous cobbled square which had some public art very different from what we get in Cardiff.

After dinner we found a place called The Dragon Bar it was pretty sweet, muchos cheap vodka and lager was drunk. All soundtracked by a jazz-jamming session happening in the corner.

Poznan was a proper nice, friendly, buzzing place.

Next day, slightly worse for wear we headed to Jarocin for the festival. It was the first festival I’ve ever been to that had a creche for children who later all came on stage and sang with the headline act. Maybe Faith No More could do something similar at Reading this year?

    Jarocin

Our set was preceded by the mother of all thunderstorms, I mean it was apocalyptic drowning out even the PA! The set went pretty well and was lent a considerably more epic atmosphere by the lightning bolts across the horizon.
